The Sierra Nevada Brewing Company has long been recognized for its commitment to reducing the environmental impact of its brewing operations. Looking for new ways to achieve environmental sustainability, the company turned to Lemna Environmental Technologies to help capture gas from an anaerobic digester, which is part of its wastewater treatment system.

LemTec™ Gas Collection Covers provide the ultimate solution for applications requiring complete gas containment and gas collection, whether solely for odor control, or for digester gas reuse applications, in ponds or steel/concrete tanks. LemTec™ Gas Collection Cover systems are designed to meet our customer’s unique requirements. In this case, Lemna’s engineers used their extensive background in wastewater process design to create a gas cover system guaranteed to provide Sierra Nevada Brewing with years of high performance and virtually maintenance-free operation.
RESULTS
Anaerobic digester performance typically decreases in colder climates like those found in Ashville, NC. However, the Lemna gas collection cover designed for Sierra Nevada is insulated to retain the higher temperatures critical to digester performance. The Lemna custom design was also able to meet Sierra Nevada’s unique requirements, such as water level fluctuations within the tank, penetrations for mixing equipment and maintenance, and service requirements of the digester itself. Lemna’s experienced installation crew ensured that LemTec™ Gas Collection system was installed correctly and within schedule. With a long life expectancy, the LemTec™ Gas Collection will provide years of service and effective gas collection for the brewing company.
