Sludge Reduction

Integrating Lagoon Technologies to Solve Every Treatment Challenge from Influent to Effluent

Sludge buildup is an issue that lagoon wastewater treatment plants must avoid by managing sludge and decreasing excess sludge creation where possible. Too much sludge creates an overloaded lagoon that exceeded its design parameters, rendering the wastewater insufficiently treated and unable to meet effluent requirements. Decreasing dissolved oxygen level caused by a surge of BOD triggers additional issues. Overloading a lagoon causes pH levels to drop, and when outside the ideal range in wastewater, both anaerobic and aerobic treatment are reduced, while more excess sludge adds to the problem.

If not reduced and managed, the build-up of a sludge blanket on the bottom of a pond lessens the capacity of the pond even more. LET utilizes a variety of advanced integrated technologies to ensure that the least amount of excess sludge and sludge build up occurs in or on the bottom of our clients’ lagoons or ponds. We utilize LET Aeration Technologies to increase the organic treatment capacity of the wastewater treatment process itself. In addition, we custom designs each of our systems.

Expertise as a leader in this industry for 30+ years, an arsenal of cutting-edge technologies and a groundbreaking approach set LET apart by delivering optimized solutions for wastewater applications including Sludge Reduction and Management o meet clients’ objectives efficiently and cost-effectively.

We maximize LET’s innovative technologies as stand-alone solutions or use the Advanced Integrated Lagoon Technologies (AILT) approach to design and create the best process with technologies integrated as components that successfully meet every challenge from influent to effluent.
